first_imgFRIDAY, AUGUST 15Weird Week Contests: A series of family-oriented contests runs at 11 a.m. every day of the week at the Ocean City Music Pier (Boardwalk at Moorlyn Terrace). Entry in all contests is free. Age-group prizes are awarded. On Friday there are two contests: Little Miss and Little Mister Chaos. Children 3-5 make as much noise as they can by banging on pots and pans for three minutes. Mister and Miss Miscellaneous is for folks who have always wanted to be in a talent contest but were deterred by conditions beyond their control.The Little Miss Ocean City Pageant: 7 p.m. at the Music Pier, Boardwalk and Moorlyn Terrace. THURSDAY, AUG. 14Baby Parade: Ocean City’s 105th Annual Baby parade is set for Thurs., August 14 starting 5 p.m. Parade route is 6th to 12th Street on the Boardwalk. It is the oldest continuously run event of its kind in the country. Past grand marshals include baseball immortal Joe DiMaggio. Princess Grace Kelly also appeared in the parade and was known to enjoy the event. The Parade is open to children from infants to 10 years of age. Contestants can register at the Music Pier Information Center at Boardwalk and Moorlyn Terrace.
