TOWN OF DICKINSON (WBNG) — New York State Senator Fred Akshar, along with Town of Dickinson Supervisor Mike Marinaccio, will announce the completion of a clean water project Tuesday morning. According to an advisory, construction crews have completed the replacement of more than 6,600 feet of piping in a “major water infrastructure project”. Akshar’s office previously stated the town had 15 water breaks over a three-week span in August of 2019, highlighting the need for the project. Akshar and Marinaccio will highlight the project in a news conference Tuesday morning at the Town of Dickinson Water Tower. Akshar announced in January that the area benefited from more than $1-million through the New York State Department of Health to replace the piping. Akshar said the funding paid for the project without raising taxes or water rates.
