Jasprit Bumrah will not play second Test against England at Lord’s

first_imgJasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the second Test against England at Lord’s as he has not fully recovered from the left hand fracture he sustained during the T20 International against Ireland in June.While announcing the squads for the first three Tests against England, BCCI had stated in the media release that Bumrah will be available for selection from the second Test subject to his fitness, India’s bowling coach Bharat Arun confirmed that he will not take the field yet.India’s two premier bowlers Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar are missing from the Test series against England. While Bumrah is still recovering from the fracture, Bhuvneshwar worsened his back condition by playing the third ODI vs England and is not in the squad for the first three Tests.”He [Burmrah] is bowling fit right now but I think it’s too early to put him into a game-like situation. The plaster on his hand needs to come off first. Bharat Arun though was aversed with the idea.”Playing an extra batsman here, I would consider it a very conservative move. I think the conditions were trying, batsmen from both sides found it tough and I’m sure the challenge for us is to adapt to this conditions even better and we have our plans in place.”last_img
