(Photo by Ronald Martinez/Getty Images)The Big 12 gets crazy every week, and that is definitely the case in Lubbock so far. Conference favorite and College Football Playoff hopeful Oklahoma football is in a shootout against Texas Tech. With just under a minute left in the half, Texas Tech scored on a Da’Leon Ward run from one-yard out to go up 31-28.Tech went 75 yards in nine plays on the go-ahead drive. It was the second score of the afternoon for Ward, who broke a big touchdown on a screen earlier in the game.Texas Tech ran a screen and Da’Leon Ward took it 45 yards for a touchdown! #WreckEm #CollegeFootball pic.twitter.com/acDp1R01Lt— The Game Haus Sports (@TGHSports) November 4, 2018Of course, it looked like they may have left OU’s explosive offense too much time. Kyler Murray got the ball into OU territory, but a bad drop over the middle prevented the Sooners from getting into field goal range, and the offense went four-and-out to end the half.Oklahoma football already dropped a game at Texas, and got a huge scare from Army. Another loss would greatly endanger the Sooners’ College Football Playoff aspirations.Army presented a giant difference in style. The triple option attack ate up the clock, and while the Sooners scored quickly when they had the ball, the defense couldn’t get off the field. This Texas Tech game is being played in a style much more comfortable for Oklahoma, but it is also Texas Tech’s preferred pace.Alan Bowman has actually been the slightly better quarterback thus far, at least through the air, with 227 yards and two touchdowns. Murray has 208 and two scores, but also a pair of interceptions. He remains a game changer on the ground, with 72 yards and a score.Texas Tech has 14 points off of those turnovers though, which is the difference in this one. It should be a very exciting second half on ABC.last_img read more
